The majority of appliances found in caravans are fuelled by LPG (the generic name for commercial butane and commercial propane)
Are any gas cylinders damaged or rusty?
Whether full or empty, are the cylinders stored securely outside?
Are any gas cylinders used inside for cooking or heating?
Are the gas appliances in good condition?
Are they connected with copper pipe or manufacturer-supplier hoses?
Is a portable gas heater inside?
Are there any fixed ventilation openings in the walls, floor or roof?
Are the openings clear of dust or any other blockage?
Are there at least two such ventilation openings?
Fixed gas appliances and pipework must be installed by a registered plumber/gas fitter. If a gas leak is suspected – turn off all appliances
turn off supply at cylinders, extinguish any ignition sources and, seek professional assistance immediately.
